EASTON, Mass.—Junior All-American Adam Scalesse, the top ranked 110 hurdler in Division III, placed second in the event and took third in the 400 hurdles , breaking his own school-record set yesterday, to earn All-New England honors in both at the All-New England Championships consisting of athletes from Divisions I, II and III at Stonehill College.
Scalesse posted a time of 14:36 in the 110 hurdles and 52.66 in the 400 hurdles. He is ranked eighth nationally in the 400 hurdles in Division III.
Will Baker placed ninth in the discus (145-2) while the Bears 4x400 relay team of Ben Hannon, Fred Higgins, Kelcey Smith and James Dawkins placed ninth with a time of 3:18.46.
In the distance events, Jordan Lee ran a 1:54.04 in the 800 meters and Ben Horvath took 17th place in the 3000 meter steeplechase running 9:47.11. Lee also led off the 4x800 relay with teammates Ben Chapman, Ryan Hub, and James Martin that ran 7:55.16 placing 15th.
Yesterday, an error was made with the pole vault results, Ben Wolhaupter still took second but his last clearance was 15'11" (currently ranked tied for 10th DIII US).
The Bears placed 11th of 36 teams and were the fourth best Division III team in the meet with 22 points.
