Dr. Hallie E. Gregory Field House
Dr. Hallie E. Gregory Field House, simply known as Gregory Field House, is the most widely-used of the Academy's indoor athletics facilities. Located in Roland Hall's 5th Deck, it's primarily utilized by the CGA track & field team as their indoor season competition and practice space. The field house is also a regular practice space for spring sports teams on poor weather days, with the tennis team even using it as a competition space on such dates. Apart from competitive purposes and practice, the field house is also used for physical education courses, military training exercises, physical fitness exams, and recreational fitness.
Originally known as Roland Fieldhouse, the facility was renamed to its current moniker in 2019 to honor Dr. Hallie E. Gregory, an instructor and coach at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy from 1971 to 1989. Dr. Gregory was an Assistant Athletics Director and a physical education instructor during his time in New London, as well as head coach of the basketball and track & field teams. In basketball, he coached the Bears to two Commonwealth Coast Conference titles while being named CCC Coach of the Year twice; in track & field, he was four-time NAIA Coach of the Year in 22nd District while coaching two national champions and six All-Americans.
