Scalesse a four-time All-American

Lacrosse, Wisc.-Coast Guard junior hurdler Adam Scalesse earned All-American honors for the fourth time in his career with a third place finish in the 110 meter hurdles at the Division III National Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse.

A three-time All-American and number one seed coming into the day, Scalesse posted a time of 14.50 seconds in the finals of the event to garner All-American honors for the fourth consecutive season. He was the top finisher among all New England competitors, easing past sophomore Terrence Gibson of Worcester State by 0.18 seconds.

Freshman Luke Campbell of Salisbury and junior Ryan Lopez-Jordan of Marietta took home first and second in the event with near-photo finish finishing times of 14.43 and 14.44 seconds, respectively.

The finish earned Coast Guard six points on the men's side to move them into 25th place in the team standings with a handful of events yet to come. Scalesse becomes the second Coast Guard athlete to earn All-American status in less than 48 hours, as junior pole vaulter Ben Wolhaupter's eighth place finish on Thursday was also named an All-American.
