Box Score

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/23/11)--Senior Brett Godiksen scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season in the first half and classmate Kevin Noll added his first goal of the season in the second half as Coast Guard snapped an eight-game winless streak with a 2-0 win over New York Maritime in a non-conference game.

Godiksen scored exactly midway through the first half, 22:30 into the match, with sophomore Kyle Grell assisting, his first of the season for the 1-0 lead.

Noll added an insurance goal in the 60th minute when he blasted home a shot off a rebound for the 2-0 advantage.

Sophomore Carlos Gonzalez and freshman Richie Burns each played a half in goal for the Bears. Gonzalez, who has not allowed a goal in 225 minutes this season, did not need to make a save to register his third win of the season. Burns had three second half saves for Coast Guard.

Junior Michael Vanadia (3-4) made three saves for the Privateers.
Coast Guard outshot New York Maritime 12-6.

The Bears, who had played seven of their last eight games on the road, improve to 5-9-1 while New York Maritime saw its four-game unbeaten streak snapped as they dropped to 10-5-3 on the season.

Coast Guard will close out the season at home on Saturday vs. WPI.
