The Offshore team competed in the first of three major regattas sailed at Navy on their Navy 44s in the famed Shields Trophy. The Dinghy team saw the Reeser brothers compete in the New England Single Handed Championship and College Sailing Single Handed Nationals Qaulifier. where Nick '25 placed 3rd overall among other top level college sailing events.
Annapolis, MD -Shields Trophy (USNA): The Offshore team traveled down to USNA to compete in the Shields Trophy, racing on Saturday and Sunday. With winds out of the Northeast the first day at 8 knots, CGA ended the day in 3rd. A challenging second day of racing saw CGA fight through 3 grueling races and end the event in 6th place. Offsoundings: Coast Guard sent two boats, Stormy Petrel and Cool Breeze, to Greenport for the Offsoundings regatta. This cherished regatta consists of multiple days of distance racing in the Long Island sound. Light breeze proved troublesome for competitors but an excellent weekend for training.
