KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The postseason accolades continue to roll in for
Jude Sargent (West Hartford, Conn.) and
Aki Freeman (San Diego, Calif.) as both players were revealed as First Team selections on the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-Region II lists.
This is Sargent's third season picking up All-Region recognition, having made Second Team for Region II in 2022 and 2023. The tri-captain was named NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year just a few weeks ago after acting as the anchor to a Coast Guard back line that allowed 1.3 goals per game on a .390 opposing shots on goal rate
Freeman earns his first All-Region selection after a superb breakout season. The junior winger's 22 points was third-best in the NEWMAC and the highest total for a Bear since 2011, setting career-highs in goals (nine) and assists (four) in the process. Freeman was tabbed NEWMAC First Team All-Conference for his efforts.
Outside of Sargent and Freeman, eight other NEWMAC athletes showed up on the First Team All-Region II lists. League champions Babson College had five representatives, while Salve Regina, MIT, and WPI each had one. The conference also had seven player appearing between the Second and Third Teams.
