SPRINGFIELD, Mass. –
At the NED3 Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield College, the Coast Guard men had a highly successful weekend.
Arguably the highlight of the weekend for the Bears was the running of sophomore distance man
James Kuduk (Harleysville, PA). Running unseeded in his first 10,000 meter race, Kuduk went on to place second, beating out third place by just 0.15 seconds.
Senior sprinter
Glenn Patrick (Fairhope, AL) was 5th in the 100m dash running 10.83 after running 10.66 in the preliminary round.
In the 800 meter race, junior
Christian Gottlieb (Harpers Ferry, WV) set a personal best time with an 8th place finish with a time of 1:55.13. Just behind him in 11th place was sophomore
Miles Taylor (Austin, TX), also running well with a time 1:56.15.
Finally, in the jumps,
Scott Bayliss (Hudson, OH) was 7th in the high jump after clearing a bar at 1.92m (6' 3.5"). Also medaling in the jumps was
Tytan Moore (St. Petersburg, FL) after placing 8th in the triple jump with a top mark of 13.69m (44' 11").
Next up for the Bears is the Farley Inter Regional next weekend, May 8th and 9th, hosted by Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
