NORTON, Mass. —
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy men's track & field team earned second place at Wheaton College's (Mass.) Lyon Invitational on Friday. The Bears swept the podium in the 600 and took six of the top seven spots in the 5000 Meters as part of three event wins on the day.
Coast Guard saw three men qualify for the 60 Meters finals, and

James Kuduk (Harleysville, Pa.) and
Carlos Garcia (Bristow, Va.) were the top two in a photo finish, but Kuduk earned the locker room bragging rights by swooping in for the win at 15:40.15 to beat Garcia's 15:40.66; both times were personal bests.

Adrian Ililau (Koror, Palau) wasn't far behind Moore in long jump, taking fourth at 6.31m (20' 8.50").
Patrick, Westkott,
Garrett Lamb (La Vernia, Tex.), and Naff made the lone relay of the night, the 4 x 200 Meters, one to remember. Facing teams from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Brandeis, the Bears found themselves a few seconds behind until Naff turned on the jets to hawk down the Judges' anchor and steal second with a time of 1:32.36, just 0.01 faster than Brandeis.
