NEW ORLEANS, La. — 

Coast Guard Academy men's track & field was recognized this past Monday, July 21, as a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.

To qualify for the list, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed semester. The team posted an excellent 3.54 GPA, which was the 30th-best mark in the 169-team field.

The Bears were also one of five teams on the list representing the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) had the top mark in the entire field at 3.75, and behind the Engineers were Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) with a 3.64. Coast Guard had the third-best team GPA among their peers, with Wheaton College (3.43) and Babson College (3.38) following.
