Sailing Finishes Sixth at Admiral’s Cup

Kings Point, N.Y.  -  Coast Guard sailing concluded its regular season this past weekend with a strong sixth-place finish at the 2025 Admiral's Cup, hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Despite a younger lineup, the Bears demonstrated impressive consistency and skill in a highly competitive field.

Over the course of 12 races in both A and B Divisions, the team faced shifting conditions with light, variable winds on Saturday followed by stronger northwesterly gusts up to 30 knots on Sunday. Junior Luke Zylinski (Lavalette, N.J.) and sophomore Grace Austin (Moorpark, Calif.) sailed in A Division and finished fourth, while freshmen Joey Richardson (San Diego, Calif.), Tomas Riccio (Rochester, N.Y.), and Olivia Spada (Huntington, N.Y.) secured ninth in B Division.

With the regular season now complete, the Bears will shift their focus to Nationals training, looking to build on their strong performance as they prepare for the upcoming championship events.
