The United States Coast Guard Academy sailing team delivered an impressive weekend of competition, with both its dinghy and offshore teams competing across four regattas and earning strong finishes against competitive fields.
Coast Guard's standout performance came at the Emily Wick Fleet Race, where the Bears secured a 2nd-place finish, while also earning a 5th-place result at the NEISA Open Team Race Championship — marking the second-highest finish in program history at the prestigious event.
NEW LONDON, Conn. — At the Emily Wick Fleet Race hosted by Connecticut College, Coast Guard turned in it's top performance of the weekend, finishing 2nd overall. Racing upriver in steady spring conditions, the Bears demonstrated consistency and strong fleet racing execution across both divisions.
Saturday featured sunny skies and a steady 10-15 knot SE breeze, while Sunday brought lighter 5-8 knot southerly winds that gradually shifted southwest during racing.
Division A: Maddie Murphy (Norfolk, Va.) and Grace Boudreau (Tequesta, Fla.)
Division B: Ella Demand (Toms River, N.J.) and Sydney Zylinski (Lavalette, N.J.)
