BOSTON, Mass. - Sophomore
Ian Naff (Arlington, Va.) continued his stellar 2025 indoor season today as the Bears men's track & field team earned an 11th-place team finish at the 2025 New England Division III (NED3) Indoor Championships.
Naff took home the 400-meter dash championship with a time of 48.00, shattering his former school record and moving him into the top 20 times in the country. Not long after, Naff earned fourth place in the 200 meters and broke another one of his school records by running 21.64 in the event.
The Bears just barely missed out on All-New England honors in two other events.
Tytan Moore (St. Petersburg, Fla.) was one spot off in the triple jump, finishing ninth but setting a personal best of 13.31 meters (43' 8"); also finishing ninth was the 4x800 meter relay squad of
Sam Myers (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.),
Christian Gottlieb (Harpers Ferry, W.Va.),
Miles Taylor (Austin, Tex.), and local legend
Brendan Fant (East Lyme, Conn.), whose time of 7:55.38 was just one second behind eighth place.
Also competing was senior captain
Philip Kirby (North Andover, Mass.), who was 24th in the weight throw event with a 14.31 meter (46' 11.5") effort.
Men's track & field will continue their postseason escapades next weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Championships, which will take place in Boston at the Reggie Lewis Center.
