Luke Broadhurst hired as Assistant Baseball Coach

NEW LONDON, Conn. –

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy Athletics Department is happy to announce the hiring of Luke Broadhurst as an Assistant Baseball Coach!

Broadhurst brings coaching experience to New London as a back to back Futures Collegiate Baseball League Champion for the Norwich Sea Unicorns. At Norwich, Luke is the Hitting and Infield Coach. 

"We are excited to add Luke to our coaching staff and baseball program." said Bears head coach Brian Casey. "Luke comes with a winning pedigree, having competed with great success at both the DI & DIII levels. He will be a great asset to our cadet-athletes as we continue to build our program at Coast Guard."

Broadhurst, a native of Stafford, earned his graduate degree in 2024 from the University of Connecticut. In two seasons at UConn, Luke was two time All-Conference, two time All-Region, and helped lead the Huskies to win the Big East Conference both seasons. 

Prior to UConn, he played at Eastern Connecticut State University for three seasons, graduating in 2022. At Eastern, Broadhurst was a two time All-American, Academic All-American, and batted 3rd for the Warriors on their National Championship winning 2022 team.
