NEW LONDON, Conn. –
After a strong 2026 campaign, four Coast Guard baseball players have been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region Team.
Nate Stafford (Jupiter, Fla.) and
Carson Cho (Haymarket, Va.) made 2nd-Team All-Region, with pitchers
Jackson Dorsey (Newark, Del.) and
Tyler Michalek (Fort Worth, Tex.) on the 3rd-Team.
Stafford started all 34 games for the Bears. He hit .341 with 44 hits, 13 doubles, 32 RBI, 24 walks, .442 OBP, and a 1.039 OPS, all of which led the team. This year, Stafford became the Coast Guard career program leader in RBI while also hitting six home runs to move him up to the fourth spot all time at CGA.
Cho started every game as well, hitting .309 with a team high 41 runs and seven home runs. He was also second on the team in hits(42), doubles(7), RBI(21), OPS(.913), and SB(9).
Michalek threw 35 strong innings for the Bears with a 3.35 ERA and 39 Ks, leading the league in ERA during NEWMAC play.
Junior closer Dorsey was the anchor of the Coast Guard bullpen. He had a team-high seven saves with a 2.45 ERA and 26 Ks in 29.1 innings pitched.
