Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Coast Guard Academy men's basketball team dropped a conference game to Salve Regina 73-85. With the victory, the Seahawks of Salve Regina moved to 9-6 overall (3-3 NEWMAC). They will play Babson at home Tuesday January 18th at 7:00.
Coast Guard Academy dug themselves into a 0-10 deficit to start the game and were never able to recover. Both in the 1st and 2nd halves, the Bears were able to cut the lead down to four but could not overcome the relentless rebounding and clutch shooting by the Seahawks. CGA was outrebounded 30-45.Â
With the loss, Coast Guard falls to 10-5 (3-3 NEWMAC).
Declan Rooney led the Bears in scoring with 20 points.
Elijah Parent added 16 and
Mitch Shettles 15.Â

Cameron Brown led the game with five blocks. Each team was successful on defense, especially in the 2nd half. Between 8:52 and 3:00 in the 2nd, the two teams were only able to convert one two point field goal each.Â
The Coast Guard Academy Bears will look to get back in the win column Tuesday January 16th at NEWMAC opponent Wheaton at 7:00pm.
