Box Score MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., - Baseball traveled to Myrtle Beach for their Spring Break Trip, taking on Eastern Nazarene in their first game of the season and getting the 9-4 win.
The Bears took the early lead in the bottom of the second with a double by Luke Percifield that scored John Carroll.
In the top of the first, CGA gave up three runs, but they quickly answered back in the bottom of the inning with four of their own, regaining the lead, 5-3. Parker Madden launched a grand slam down the left field line that scored Tyler Michalek, Carroll and Greg Boland.
Coast Guard did not give up the lead for the remainder of the game. Eastern Nazarene scored only one more time, which came in the top of the fifth. The Bears put up four more in their half of the inning off a Boland single, Madden double and a Justin Stasiak sacrifice fly. CGA walked away with the 9-4 win in game one of the season.
Raymond Priddy is credited with the win on the mound for the Bears. He gave up four hits, one run, no walks and four strikeouts.
Coast Guard is back in action on March 6th against Centenary (N.J.).
