Bears Baseball Falls by Just One

HARRISON, N.Y. -- After a long week, Bears faced Manhattanville College on the road yesterday and were just outscored, 5-6. 

In the first inning, the Bears had quite the two out rally and the third through fifth batters all singled to get on base. Although, they could not get across home plate as Greg Boland was thrown out at home for the third out of the inning. In the bottom of the first, the Bears were able to hold the Valiants and not let them score either. 

In the second and third innings, both teams would go three up, three down. Finally in the fourth inning, Manhattanville got two up on CGA. 

In the sixth inning, Senior Blake Carrol hit a three-run homer, to make the score, 3-2. Manhattanville answered right back, scoring one in the bottom of the 6th to tie the score up, 3-3. 

The Bears trailed by three starting the final inning of the game. In the top of the ninth, Bears were only able to get two runs across the plate, just falling, 5-6. 

CGA Baseball will try to redeem themselves this Thursday as they face Mass. Maritime on the road at 4 PM.
