Box Score BETHLEHEM, Pa.-- Lindsey Strohl scored six goals to lead Moravian to a 16-12 victory over Coast Guard women's lacrosse on Sunday afternoon. The Bears fall to 1-3 on the season, while the Greyhounds improved to 1-2 on the season.
Eliza Fantazzi and Megan Donnelly scored three goals each, Jackie Salvator added two more for the Greyhounds, and Kelsey Moore and Devin King rounded out the scoring for Moravian with one goal apiece.
Addy Bass, Caitlyn Coates, and Gianna Cascio all tallied three goals each to lead the Bears. Brenda Anderson scored two goals and added two helpers, and Katherine Pittman had one goal and one assist for the Bears.
Moravian jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening seven minutes of play. Cascio scored a man-up goal at 7:34 to get the Bears on the board. The Greyhounds had a 7-2 advantage in the first quarter.
Moravian scored the first two goals of the second quarter but Cascio answered with two goals of her own and Pittman the third consecutive goal for the Bears, cutting the deficit to 9-5. The Greyhounds took a 12-6 lead at the half.
Coates and Bass scored the opening two goals of the third quarter as the Bears trailed 12-8. Moravian extended their lead to 16-10 in the third quarter.
The Bears scored the only two goals of the final quarter, but it wasn't enough as Moravian walked away with the 16-12 final.
Devon McCue made four saves for Coast Guard, while Brelyn Friedman had two stops, and Rylee Soltis also had two saves for Moravian.
Coast Guard outshot Moravian 29-28.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday, March 19 at 1 PM as they open New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play at home against Emerson.
