MEDFORD, Mass. —
The United States Coast Guard Academy women's rowing headed to Medford, Massachusetts this past weekend for a double dual with Trinity College and Middlebury College.
The morning races saw Coast Guard line up against some strong crews from Middlebury, with the highlight being the 2V event where the Bears held contact with the Panthers for the entire race, but ultimately came up short by 4.8 seconds. Middlebury swept the races against the CGA, taking the win in the 1V race by 21.2 seconds and holding off the 3V with a 42.1 second margin.
The afternoon's racing saw an increase in wind conditions, but Coast Guard came prepared to reset and refocus. The 1V saw a ten-second improvement in their time but ultimately fell to Trinity, who finished the race in a time of 7:13.4. Trinity swept the remainder of the races, finishing 39.3 seconds ahead in the 2V and 36.2 seconds ahead for the 3V.
