Frazer career day leads Bears past Clark

Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. --

Saturday afternoon, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy men's basketball snapped their 3 game losing streak as they beat fellow NEWMAC team Clark University 81-76 at Roland Gymnasium. 

The Bears improve to 7-14 on the season and 3-10 in the NEWMAC. Following their third straight loss, the Clark Cougars sit at 12-10 and 7-6 in NEWMAC. The Cougars will play again on Wednesday February 11th as they host Wheaton College (14-7, 7-5). 

Coast Guard would find themselves down 12-6 in the first 5 minutes of the contest. The Bears managed to erase the 6-point deficit, and after mostly a back-and-fourth first half the Bears would take a 41-39 point lead at the end of the first half.  

Coast Guard jumped out the gates to start the second half scoring 9 unanswered points. The Bears commanded as high as 14 point lead, before the Cougars clawed their way back to tie the game at 67-67. Clark University's star freshman Aliaun Iscandari would score 25 points before fouling out of the game with 7 minutes remaining in the contest.  

The Bears would outscore the Cougars 14-9 to win the game led by junior guard Jordan Frazer(Columbia, SC), who tied his career-high with 26 points coming from 7 three-pointers. Coast Guard would finish the game with 4 players in double-digit points. Senior forward, Luke Farrell(Ortley, NJ), scored 16 points and gathered 9 rebounds. Senior guard, Elijah Parent(Bristol, CT), scored 14 points. Senior guard, Trevor Parks(Oldsmar, FL), scored 12 points.  


Coast Guard will go on the road as they travel to Worcester, Mass. to face WPI Goats on Wednesday February 11th, at a start time of 5:30pm ET at Harrington Auditorium.
