NEW LONDON, Conn. —
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy women's swimming & diving team closed out their regular season schedule with two wins on Saturday in the midst of a senior day celebration at Roland Pool. The Bears defeated Montclair State University, 158-134, and Roger Williams University, 201-79.
Coast Guard closes their season at 11-4. The meet also marked the end of the calendar for the Red Hawks and the regular Hawks, with Montclair finishing at 7-3 and RWU at 1-6. Both teams will begin preparing for the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships, set to be held from February 12th-15th at Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Virginia.
Phoebe Jane Allred (Seattle, Wash.) opened the day with a win for Coast Guard on the 1-meter board, totaling 222.52 points while
Lara Baronsky (Victory, N.Y.) placed fourth with 121.72 points. The Bears' 200 medley relay team of
Sam Halvorson (Chesapeake, Va.),
Rebecca Hurst (Guilderland, N.J.),
Madelyn Paxton (Mechanicsburg, Va.), and
Kathleen O'Shea (Decatur, Ga.) followed with a 1:50.68 win.
Halvorson and Paxton were later one and two in the 100 Back following a photo finish, which saw Halvorson's time of 58.51 be just 0.31 faster than her teammate. Halvorson also picked up a win in the 200 Back with 2:09.44 pace, while Paxton took first place in the 100 Fly and 200 IM later on with respective times of 58.96 and 2:10.00. Hurst was the victor in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:09.60.
Zoe Suhajda (Colorado Springs, Colo.) won the meet's first individual race, the 1,000 Free, in 11:04.90, which was almost ten seconds faster than the runner-up from Montclair.
Mikayla Jolley (Las Vegas, Nev.) edged out the Red Hawks'
Rourke Peralta by 0.45 to take the 200 Free.
Megan Doubrava (Aurora, Colo.) won the 200 Fly by touching the wall in 2:10.90.

Bears women's swim & dive will now set their sights on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships, which are slated to run from February 19th-22nd with Massachusetts Institute of Technology acting as the host. Coast Guard finished as runners-up to MIT at last season's meet.
