RICHMOND, Va. —
Both sides of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy swimming & diving team have been recognized as 2025 College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Fall Scholar All-Academic Teams. The men's and women's teams posted respective grade point averages of 3.39 and 3.46 to earn the honor among 711 teams representing 415 institutions across NCAA divisions I-III, NAIA, and junior college and community colleges.
To qualify for the lists, a team must meet a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 during the Fall 2025 semester. The men posted the fourth-best GPA among qualifying New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) teams, with Massachusetts Institute of Technology topping the category at 3.68; on the women's side, the Bears were sixth-best as Smith College held the top spot of 3.71.
Both teams also outperformed their counterparts at other federal service academies. Army's men's team was West Point's only representative, posting a 3.01; Navy's women's and men's teams recorded respective GPAs of 3.21 and 3.16; and Air Force's teams met averages of 3.15 and 3.27. Neither of Merchant Marine's teams were selected for the lists.
Bears swimming & diving will close out their regular season this Saturday, January 31st, as they take on Montclair State University and Roger Williams University at noon ET, following which the team will begin preparing for the NEWMAC Championships held at MIT from February 19th-22nd.
