SPARKS, Md. —
U.S. Coast Guard Academy women's lacrosse senior
Rowan Walsh (Hampstead, Md.) and sophomore
Ella Campbell (Foxborough, Mass.) have been announced as USA Lacrosse Division III Preseason All-Americans, with Walsh being named to Third Team and Campbell being named an Honorable Mention. Both cadet-athletes are being honored with the recognition for the first time in their careers.
As a junior last season, Walsh earned a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) First Team All-Conference nod after picking up 34 ground balls and totaling 30 caused turnovers while starting all 16 games for the Bears last season. Her 1.88 caused turnovers per game ranked as third-best in the conference. She was named NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending on March 30th, 2025, for recording six caused turnovers and four ground balls across wins against Salve Regina University and Smith College.
Campbell's 2025 freshman season culminated in a USA Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention nod, giving her the distinction of being the first All-American in Coast Guard Academy women's lacrosse history. Campbell recorded 17 caused turnovers and 18 ground balls during her rookie season and ranked in the NEWMAC's top ten for draw controls per game with 3.69, a rate that increased to 4.18 against league opponents. Despite being a freshman, Campbell was often tasked with guarding the opposing teams' best players, and her skill in transitioning the ball upfield was a boost to the Bears' offense. She was named the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year for her efforts and joined Walsh as a First Team All-Conference player.
