NEW LONDON, Conn. — 

Blake Delevan (Carlisle, Pa.) of football and Abby Schweitzer (Emmaus, Pa.) have been named the CoastGuardAthletics.com Athletes of the Week, presented by First Command (week ending September 28th).

Delevan played a big role on defense in football's 48-21 NEWMAC opener win against Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The junior defensive back made six tackles in a three-way tie for the team lead and made a contribution to the scoreboard with a 32-yard pick six in the first quarter.

Schweitzer had a career day last Tuesday in volleyball's 1-3 loss to Smith, leading the team with a career highs of 17.5 points and 17 kills, while also recording a block assist to add to her point total.

Delevan and the football team are away at SUNY Maritime College (2-2, 0-1) this Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest, while Schweitzer and the volleyball team face further NEWMAC play on Tuesday at Clark University (1-9, 0-2) and on Saturday at Babson College (8-3, 2-0).
