This past weekend, Coast Guard sailing had an impressive showing across four events: J70 Invite #2, hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy; the Emily Wick Fleet Race, hosted by Connecticut College; the Mystic Lake Team Race, hosted by Tufts University; and the NEISA Open Team Race Championships, hosted by Harvard University on the Charles River. The standout achievement of the weekend came at the J70 #2, which saw the Bears finish first and second in home waters on the Thames River.

Sarah Evans (Stowe, Vt.) and
Audrey Beckman (West Chester, Pa.), and the group showed their skills with top five finishes in nine of 12 races. The Bears notched key victories over fellow maritime schools United States Merchant Marine Academy, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and SUNY Maritime College, further cementing Coast Guard's standing as a premier maritime school in the realm of sailing competition.
