Rohrer, Hunter Named CoastGuardAthletics.com Athletes of the Week

NEW LONDON, Conn. —

Noah Rohrer (Mount Joy Township, N.J.) of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy football team and Brooke Hunter (Phillipsburg, N.J.) of the cross country team have been named the CoastGuardAthletics.com Athletes of the Week, presented by First Command (week ending November 2nd).

Rohrer was key in the final stretch of the football team's 36-31 victory over Salve Regina University on Saturday. With Salve threatening to extend their lead late in the fourth quarter, Rohrer punched the ball out of the Seahawks running back's arm to force a turnover, which eventually turned into a lead-changing touchdown for the Bears. The junior linebacker struck again in an even bigger moment on the next Salve drive, recovering another Salve fumble deep in his team's territory to put a cap on the hectic game.

Hunter was the third-fastest runner in Coast Guard's runner-up effort at the 2025 NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Championship. The sophomore ran 23:11.1 to place 19th overall in the race, clinching the last All-Conference spot of the race by 11 seconds. Hunter's performance garnered the first All-NEWMAC honors of the her career.

Rohrer and the football team head to Springfield College on Saturday, November 8th, while Hunter and the cross country team will also compete on Saturday in the D3 Challenge at Stenger Farm Park in nearby Waterford, Connecticut.
