Hensley, Forti, Women's 200 Medley Earn NEWMAC Weekly Honors

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. —

Harrison Hensley (Riverview, Fla.) of football, Mia Forti (Madison, Conn.) of women's soccer, and the women's swim & dive 200 medley relay team have all been recognized in the most recent round of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) athletes of the week (week ending November 2nd).

Hensley was the engine to football's 36-31 win over Salve Regina University on Saturday. The junior running back totaled 186 yards of offense and scored two touchdowns, rushing for 168 scoring one on the ground while adding the other with an 18-yard catch. Hensley put the game out of reach with his 30-yard scoring rush in the fourth quarter.

Forti powered women's soccer to a 3-1 win over Smith College. With the Nitchman Field stands packed for Senior Day and the Bears needing a win to earn a playoff spot, the senior captain recorded her first career hat trick in her final home game. The win propelled women's soccer to finish seventh on the league table.

The women's 200-yard medley relay team of Sam Halvorson (Chesapeake, Va.), Rebecca Hurst (Guilderland, N.J.), Madelyn Paxton (Mechanicsburg, Va.), and Julia Thomas (Chandler, Ariz.) won their debut race of the season at Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Halloween quad meet. The quartet took first with a time of 1:50.35, touching the wall just 0.5 seconds before the runners-up from Babson.

Hensley and the football team will be at Springfield College on Saturday, looking to beat the Pride in their penultimate game and stay undefeated in the NEWMAC. Forti and the women's soccer team will also be at Springfield this week, playing there on Tuesday in the First Round of the NEWMAC Championship Tournament. Women's swim & dive will be at Springfield on Saturday as well for a tri-meet against the Pride and Wheaton College (Mass.).
