Bears fall in road showdown with Johnson & Wales

Box Score Providence, RI- Coast Guard was unable to get their bats going in a non conference road loss to Johnson & Wales. The 15-1 loss was the first loss by more than one run for the Bears thus far this season. For JWU, Aidan Vining acted as the opener, throwing only the first inning before Max Randazzo took the mound and threw the next seven. Randazzo gave up no runs and only one hit while striking out 12 Bears in route to earning the victory.

The loss evens Coast Guard's all-time record vs Johnson & Wales which currently sits at 4-4.

Going into the 9th inning, Coast Guard's lone hit was a single in the 3rd by Freshman and current team hit leader Nathan Stafford. In the 9th, Senior John Tacchini pinch hit and made the most of his opportunity by doubling in the left center gap. He would come around to score two batters later on a Johnson & Wales error for CGA's only run of the game.

The Bears will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon with their first true home game of the season vs Trinity College at 3:30 PM.
