Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Men's Basketball team took down Springfield tonight with
Mitch Shettles getting a season high in the 76-71 victory.
Recording 26 points on the night, Shettles led all scorers while recording a double-double with 11 rebounds.
The Bears had a slow start out the gate, finding themselves quickly down by six before finding their rhythm to take their first lead at just about four minutes into the first half. The Pride regained the lead and held it until Shettles put the Bears back in front with a little under six minutes remaining in the first.
However, heading into the break, CGA was down 35-33.
Coast Guard came out of halftime with a new intensity as Shettles drained a three to open the second. From there, the Bears went on the build on their lead, going up by as much as eight at one point.
Springfield attempted to come from behind, but the defense of Coast Guard kept them down, leading to the Bears' victory.
Declan Rooney put up 16 points, with
Elijah Parent picking up 12 and
Cameron Brown recording 10.
Luke Farrell recorded eight rebounds and Brown had seven.
Coast Guard is now 13-9 overall and 6-7 in conference. They will next host Wheaton at 1 PM on February 10th.
