Second half comeback attempt falls short in NEWMAC quarterfinals

The Coast Guard Academy men's basketball team fell in the NEWMAC quarterfinals to Babson College 87-76. The 4th seeded Babson Beavers will now play 1st seed WPI Thursday.

The Bears valiant effort was led by Mitch Shettles. The sophomore from New Albany, Mississippi scored a career high 30 points, which led the game. He shot 4-8 from beyond the arc and was a perfect 4-4 at the line. Shettles also led the team in rebounds(6) and minutes played(34). 

Junior guard Declan Rooney added 14 points with three rebounds and four assists while going a perfect 3-3 from the line. Sophomore forward Luke Farrell was productive off the bench scoring eight points.

Coast Guard; who set a program record for NEWMAC victories this season, does not have any graduating seniors and will look to build upon this impressive season next year.
