NEW LONDON, Conn. - Coast Guard Track & Field hosted its Winter Invite this weekend, with five Bears finishing in the top spot of their respective events.
In the 4x200m Relay, Anthony Fotos,
Omar Castro,
Luke Cherry and
Ian Naff came in first, also earning the eight spot in the All-Time CGA Performances record book at 1:36.55.
Maalik Song came out on top in the hurdles at 8.19, Naff was first in 400m Dash at 52.54 and
Brendan Fant was on top in the 1000m Run at 3:38.86. The 4x400m Relay was another first place finish for CGA. The team made up of
Brian Green, Fant,
Christian Gottlieb and
Grant Kellenberger ran a 3:43.77.
There were also several second and third place finishes for the Bears. Coming in second place and seventh all time in CGA Performances was
Joshua Banks in the Pole Vault (4.70m).
Other second place finishes were Gottlieb in the 800m Run (2:06.40),
Luke Manning in the 3000m Run (9:30.44) and
Philip Kirby in the Weight Throw (13.65m).
Earning third place finishes was Fotos in the 400m Dash (53.62), Andy Kehias in the 3000m Run (9:49.13), Willian McGowen in the 55m HH (8.36) and Ben Wagner in the High Jump (1.70m).
Coast Guard will next compete at Tufts University on January 20th.
