NEW LONDON, Conn. - In the final game of the season, senior Blake Carroll tied both the single season homerun record and the single season record for runs scored.
Carroll hit a total of nine home runs during the 2023 season, hitting number nine against Springfield yesterday, which ties the single season record. In his career as a Bear, Carroll hit 18 homers, which set a new school record.
On top of those, Carroll is in the history books at tying the single season runs scored record with 39.
"Blake has had a tremendous career. He is at the top of several offensive categories, including the career & single season homerun marks," said Head Coach Brian Casey. "I believe it's a testament to all his hard work and effort. He goes about things & plays the game the right way. Happy to see him get what he deserves with these records."
Carroll will graduate this year and will report to Coast Guard Cutter Venturous in St. Petersburg, FL.
