NEW LONDON, Conn. – Coast Guard Sailing competed in their final regular season regatta this weekend, The Coast Guard Alumni Bowl hosted this year by Connecticut College.
The Coast Guard Alumni Bowl is the NEISA Spring Open Fleet Race Championship, which is the most competitive conference championship in the nation with 11 of the top 20 ranked teams.
The Bears sailed well in the championship finishing third, only four points behind second place Dartmouth College. Coast Guard was able to pass Yale University in the last race to secure third place by four points. The Bears had strong showing in B-Division with Colman Schofield 3/c, Lauren O'Neill 2/c, and Charles Mason 1/c finishing in second place. Sailing in A-Division was Daniel Unangst 2/c, Jack Farrell 1/c, Nic Reeser 3/c, and Charles Pohl 4/c.
On Tuesday, The ICSA Selection committee will select the field for Women's and Open Fleet Race National Championships hosted by USMMA.
