Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - Bears Baseball hosted Wheaton in its second to last home game of the regular season, falling to the Lyons with a final of 6-1.
In the top of the first, the Lyons got their first run of the game, but the Bears answered back in the home half with a run of their own. John Carroll grounded out to second, but recorded an RBI to tie the game at one early on.
Wheaton added runs in the third and fourth innings, putting Coast Guard down 4-1. The Bears had an opportunity to add some to the board in the bottom of the fifth with two on board. But they weren't able to capitalize.
The top of the sixth, the Lyons added two more to their lead.
Heading into the bottom of the ninth, the Bears were down, 6-1. In a last effort, multiple Bears made contact and one walked, but no runs would score. CGA ultimately fell, 6-1.
The Bears will face Springfield on April 28th at 3:30 PM.
