Bears Fall to the Engineers in the Last Inning

NEW LONDON, Conn. –- Today, CGA Baseball finished out their three-game series with New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe WPI.

The Engineers got up 2-0 on the Bears in the second inning and added three more in the top of the fourth.

Bears answered back in the bottom of the fourth scoring four. Parker Madden hit a two-run bomb, Justin Stasiak singled and hit in a run, and one run walked in.

The Engineers added one more in the top of the fifth to make the score 6-4 heading into the bottom of the inning.

CGA's Parker Madden hit a sacrifice fly to score Jack Steel and add one to the scoreboard in the bottom of the of the seventh.

In the bottom of the eighth, Justin Staziak got up and solo homered to tie it up 6-6.

In the top of the ninth, the Engineers took back the lead. In the bottom of the ninth, Bears could not get it done and would fall 8-6.

For CGA, Staziak went four for four at the plate today. Tyler Michalek had three strikeouts in four innings Sean Rojas each had three in three innings on the mound.

Bears look to redeem themselves as they face Wheaton tomorrow, April 25th, at 3:30 PM on their home field.
