Box Score 2 WORCESTER, Mass. - After beating Clark yesterday, Baseball wrapped up the series today falling in game one, but taking game two.
In game one, the Bears struck first in the top of the third. Blake Carroll was the first one to cross the plate when he stole home. a John Carroll single brought in the second run to give the Bears a 2-0 lead.
Clark answered with two of their own in the bottom of the fourth before Coast Guard regained the lead in the top of the fifth off a Jack Steel single that brought in B. Carroll.
The scoring kept going for both teams in the seventh inning. In the top half, B. Carroll brought in Steel and Parker Madden hit a two RBI single. But they would be the last runs of the game for the Bears as the Cougars scored 10 between the seventh and eight innings. CGA ultimately fell, 12-6.
With the series tied at one game a piece, it all came down to game two.
Neither team could get anything going in the first four innings. Clark scored first with one run in the bottom of the fifth. Coast Guard quickly answered in the top of the sixth, bringing in two off a B. Carroll two-run bomb. Another Bears run was added in the top of the eight off a Steel double.
Clark tried to come back in the bottom of the ninth, but they only managed to get one. The Bears took the 3-2 victory and the series.
Coast Guard will take on Wheaton on April 18th at 3:30 PM.
