Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. – Today, Bears Baseball continued New England Women and Men Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play, ending Babson's six-game win streak for a score of 7-1.
In the bottom of the first, Senior Blake Carroll, hit a solo homer to give the Bears a 1-0 lead.
Babson answered back to tie it up in the top of the fourth. The Bears added one in the bottom of the inning to take back the lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Bears added another to increase their lead to 3-1.
The Beavers tried scoring on the Bears in the bottom of the seventh, but Luca Rubin was thrown out at home by a relay from leftfield.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, CGA's B. Carroll hit a two-run bomb, his second of the day, to increase the Bears' lead to 5-1.
Bears held the Beavers to a no-score in the top eighth and CGA added two more runs in the bottom of the inning to increase their lead to six.
CGA was able to hold Babson in the top of the ninth, ending the Beavers win streak for a score of 7-1.
B. Carroll was three for four at the plate, with two homers and three RBIs. John Carroll was also three for four at the plate and had an RBI. Greg Boland went two for four, hitting one double and two RBIs.
CGA Baseball will look to keep their win streak going as they face Clark at home, this Friday, at 3:30 PM.
