NORTON, Mass. -- Men's Lacrosse continued New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play today, dropping the Wheaton Lyons 16-5. 

In the first quarter, Bears got up 2-0 on the Lyons. The majority of the Bears points would come from the second quarter though. CGA added five more before even allowing Wheaton to get on the scoreboard. Bears led 9-1 heading into the second half. 

In the third quarter, Wheaton scored two goals in the first four minutes. However, the Bears would go on to score three more. The fourth quarter was much of the same, CGA dominating offensively. While the Lyons added two more points in the final quarter, their efforts would not be enough to come anywhere near the Bears lead. 

Coast Guard would win by eleven goals for a score of 16-5, improving to 1-1 in conference play. 

Gaige Kruger led the Bears with five goals and three assists on the day. Ryan Flynn, Ian Feely, Ryan Hunter and Taylor Gustafson would all have two goals apiece. Caleb Holdridge would add three assists and one score. Ben Nocerito and Avery Humphrey would also add one each to the Bears total score. Wyatt Rumpf won 8 eight of 12 faceoffs for CGA. 

As a team, the Bears scooped up 30 ground balls and 21 clears. 

Defensively, Goalie Dan Lucas had 12 saves for his team. 

Bears will be back in action next Saturday, April 8th, at 3 PM as they face Clark on their home field.
