Baseball Falls in Extra Innings

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - After taking Tuesday off, Coast Guard Baseball took on Bridgewater St. yesterday, falling in extra innings with a final score of 5-4.

The Bears found themselves down 3-0 in the top of the third. They were able to get the bats going with a two-run homer by Wyatt Duthu that put CGA on the board and cut the lead to one. 

Bridgewater St. put another one up in the bottom of the fifth, with an answer by Coast Guard with one of its own in the top of the seventh. 

Going into the ninth, CGA was trailing 4-3. The top of the inning, Greg Boland hit a sacrifice fly that scored John Carroll and tied the game at four. 

Into extra innings, neither team scored in the tenth, taking the game to an eleventh. Coast Guard failed to get a run in its half of the inning and couldn't stop Bridgewaters St. in the bottom half, ultimately falling, 5-4.

The Bears will take on the Cardinals from Catholic University today at 12:30 PM.
