NEW LONDON, Conn. - Baseball hosted Merchant Marine in a single-game matchup that ended with the Bears falling, 12-2.

The first inning, both teams were able to put up runs. In the home half, Parker Madden hit a double to center field, scoring Jack Steel and tying the game at one. The Bears struggled to keep the Mariners off the board for the remainder of the game as they have up 11 other runs.

The next time Coast Guard scored was in the bottom of the eigth. Blake George singled to left field, on top of an error by Merchant Marine, bringing in John Carroll. 

Steel and George both had two hits on the day. 

Coast Guard will hit the road to play Westfield State on March 29th at 3:30 PM.
