CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Coast Guard Men's Basketball Team was on the road on Saturday where they were unable to top MIT after a close battle, falling 86-83.

The Beavers put up the first points of the game, with the Bears answering back not too long after. CGA, while never taking the lead in the first half, stayed close for a majority of the 20 minutes.

Going into halftime, the Bears trailed 42-34.

CGA saw its only lead of the game in the second half. With just three and a half minutes left to play, the Bears were leading, 75-74. The lead would only last about a minute before the Beavers scored again. 

In a last effort, the Bears tied it up at 83 with eight seconds left. It wouldn't be enough as they ultimately couldn't top MIT.

Declan Rooney led CGA in scoring with 17, followed by Mitch Shettles with 16.

Coast Guard will be on the road again to face Emerson on February 8th at 5 PM.
