Box Score KINGS POINT, N.Y. - The Men's Basketball Team was on the road facing longtime rival, Merchant Marine, getting a late surge to take down the Mariners, 78-64.

The first half was a close 20 minutes as both teams battled for the lead. Coast Guard scored first and from there, the game saw nine lead changes in the first half alone. Neither team led by more than six points. 

With just under two minutes to go, the Mariners took the lead. The Bears didn't get it back for the remainder of the half, trailing 39-36 heading into the break.

The second half of the game started out much like the first. Both teams battled for the lead up until the halfway point. Coast Guard took the lead and didn't give it up for the remainder of the game. They continued to drain shots, leading by as much as 16 at one point. The late push gave the Bears the 78-64 win.

CGA scored 13 three pointers in the game. Mitch Shettles led all scorers with 21. He also had six rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal. Jordan Frazer had 12 points and six rebounds. Cameron Brown recorded 12 points and seven rebounds.

Coast Guard will go back on the road to face Emerson in the first conference game of the season on December 9th.
