Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Greg Boland was 4 for 4 with a career-high six RBI's and Cody Fidler remained unbeaten winning his New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) leading fifth game of the season leading Coast Guard to an 11-3 win over Clark in the first game of a three-game weekend series.
Coast Guard which has won 10 of its last 11 improves to 15-7 overall and the Bears sit atop the NEWMAC West with a 6-1 record while Clark drops to 12-9 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
Fidler went six and 2/3 innings and scatted nine hits and allowed two earned runs while walking one and fanning two to improve to 5-0 on the season.
Boland had an RBI single in first and a two-run single in the second inning while Nat Nam blasted a solo homer, his first of the season, as the Bears jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings.
Charles Red had an RBI double in the fifth before Boland added his third run scoring single in the fifth as the Bears increased the lead to 7-0.
The Bears led 8-2 before scoring three time in the eighth on an RBI single by Blake Carroll and two-run single by Boland to close the scoring for the Bears.
Wyatt Duthu had three hits including a double and scored three runs while Carroll had two hits including a double, drove in a pair and scored three runs while Nam scored three runs in the win.
The two teams are back at it on Saturday as they close out the three-game weekend series with a doubleheader at Coast Guard at noon.
