Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass. – Babson scored six of its eight unearned runs in the fourth as the Beavers snapped Coast Guard's school record nine-game winning streak beating the Bears 10-0 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game stopped after seven innings due to the 10-run rule.
Babson improves to 14-8 overall and 5-1 in the conference while Coast Guard is now 14-7 overall and also sits at 5-1 in the NEWMAC on top of the Western Division.
The Beavers took a 2-0 lead in the first on a two-run single by Francis Kiely. He would go 3 for 4 with four RBI's in the win
In the sixth, there were two outs and nobody on when the Beavers pushed across six unearned runs taking advantage of a pair of Coast Guard errors in the frame for an 8-0 lead.
Sean Rojas (1-1) went the first two and 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs to take the loss.
Cody Fidler, Greg Boland, Jack Steel and Justin Stasiak accounted for the Bears four hits.
Tristen Spalter (3-2) went six innings allowing four hits and fanning one to get the win.
Coast Guard is back in action on Friday when the play a NEWMAC game at Clark, the first of a weekend three game series at 3:00.
