NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Bears used a balanced attack to secure their second win in a row with a 62-59 win over crosstown opponent Connecticut College. With the win, the Bears improve to 3-5; the Camels fall to 1-6. 

The Bears were led by Kira Wood with a game-high 20 points. Dorothy Stotts added 12 points and Julia Mann had eight. Glory Blethen had a game-high nine rebounds for the Bears as well as a game-high six assists. The Camels were led by Rebecca Oberman-Levine with 16 points, followed by Avery Burns with 14 and Catie Donadio with 10. 

In the first quarter, Blethen had a beautiful pass to Stotts on a cut after a baseline for the layup and one. Julia Barbalato came in off the bench in the second and grabbed two offensive rebounds to extend the Bears' possessions. Early in the third, Lily Mika hit a clutch three as the shot clock expired, ending a run by Conn.

In Taylor Lynch's first possession of the night late in the fourth quarter, she had a hard drive to the paint and dish to Mika for the layup and the foul. To seal the deal with 1.3 seconds to go, Mann intercepted a pass from the Camels, got fouled, and hit one of the two free throws to extend the lead to three. 

The Bears were hot from the floor, shooting 46.3% and holding Conn to 36.9%. The Camels shot 33.3% from three and the Bears were 28.6%. The Bears assisted on 15 of their 25 made baskets on the night. 

The Bears are back in action on Saturday, December 17 at 4 PM PST as they head to Tacoma, Washington to take on Puget Sound at Pacific Lutheran University in the Pacific Northwest Tournament.
