Bears Tumble in Hawks Season Opener

BRISTOL, R.I. -– Coast Guard was defeated Wednesday by Roger Williams University, 106-71, in a non-conference matchup.

Will MacDonald led the way for the Hawks with 16 points, hitting six of ten of his shots from the field, including four of five attempts from beyond the arch, with four rebounds and five assists.  Mac Annus knocked down 50 percent of this shots with three rebounds, six Roger Williams players were in double figures.
 
The Hawks jumped out early, going up 17-1 in the opening 4:55 of play.  The Bears then cut the lead down to nine, before the Hawks knocked down three pointers on three consecutive trips to take a 26-12 lead.
 
The Hawks ended the half with a 19-point lead, before again using hot shooting in the second half as they led by as many as 39 points in the second half, before a pair of layups by the Bears closed out the game. 
 
The Bears will be back in action on Friday November 19 and Saturday November 20 in the Cadet-Mariner Classic in New London CT. Friday's non-conference contest versus St Joseph's (Brooklyn) is at 730pm.
