NEW LONDON, Conn. – Alex Carlisle had a game-high 24 points while Aaron Williams had 23 points and a game-high 11 rebounds leading Wheaton to a 90-84 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.

Wheaton snapped a 10-game losing streak and improved to 6-13 overall and 1-7 in the NEWMAC while Coast Guard drops to 5-12 overall and 2-6 in conference play.

Marckenley Lima added 16 points and Evan Cook 14 points in the win for Wheaton which outrebounded the Bears 53-25.

Garrett Drummond led Coast Guard with 20 points while Ben Yagey (15), Tyler Perez (14), Jarrod Jackson (11) and Madison Maloney (10) were also in double figures for the Bears. Maloney grabbed a team-high six rebounds.

The Lyons were 32 of 64 from the floor and hit 11 of 30 from 3-point range while the Bears were 28 of 66 (42.4 percent) from the field and connected on 13 of 30 from behind the arc.

Wheaton scored eight straight to open up an 18-10 lead with 12:30 left in the opening half and the Lyons would score the final seven points of the half for a 48-34 lead at the break.

Coast Guard quickly cut the deficit in half in the opening minutes of the second half using a 9-2 spurt to make the score 50-43 with 17:35 left.

The Lyons led 84-72 with 4:08 left before the Bears hit three straight 3-pointers to close the gap to 84-81 with 1:45 left.

Cook and Duncan Bubar made back-to-back layups as the Lyons put the game away leading 88-81 with 41 seconds left.

The Bears are back in action on Wednesday in a NEWMAC game at 7:00.
