Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Julia Mann had 14 points and a team-high 12 rebounds, her second double-double of the season, and Coast Guard used a 10-2 fourth quarter run to beat Clark 72-60 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
The Bears improve to 9-6 overall and 2-2 in the NEWMAC while Clark drops to 6-10 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Jacqueline Ward led the Bears with 16 points to go with a game-high eight assists while Emma Puddington had nine points and nine rebounds for Coast Guard.
Coast Guard 32.9 percent (26 of 79) in the win while making four of 21 from 3-point range. Clark was 22 of 62 (35.5 percent) and connected on four of 16 from behind the arc.
Hannah Favaloro had a game-high 24 points to lead Clark.
The game was tied 16-16 after one quarter and Coast Guard would score eight straight to open up a 33-23 lead with 4:10 left in the first half. Clark would trim the deficit to 37-35 with 1:03 left before the Bears scored the final four points for a 41-35 halftime lead.
The Bears would use another 8-0 run in the third quarter to take a 51-42 lead with 2:15 left in the third. Coast Guard led 55-48 after three quarters.
Clark would score the first four points of the fourth to make the score 55-52 with 8:19 left, but Coast Guard would use a 10-2 run to push the lead to 65-54 with 2:54 left.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday in a non-conference game at UMass-Boston at 1:00.
