Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. – Babson scored the final 12 points of the game for a come-from-behind 66-63 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).
Coast Guard would score 13 straight in just 2:46 to start the fourth for a 63-54 lead before Babson scored the final 12 points of the game to stun the Bears.
Babson improves to 11-4 overall and 2-0 in the NEWMAC while the Bears drop to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Kyra Hartman scored 10 straight points during the 13-0 Coast Guard run to start the fourth as the Bears turned a 54-50 deficit after three quarters into a 63-54 lead with 7:14 left, but the Bears would not score again.
Kelly Walsh hit a 3-pointer with 1:56 left which broke a 53-53 tie and would be the final points of the game.
Babson was 24 of 66 from the field (36.4 percent) and hit six of 21 from 3-point range in the win. Coast Guard was 26 of 88 (29.5 percent) while hitting seven of 27 from behind the arc.
Megan Bauman led Babson with 22 points and five assists while Kelly Walsh added 21 points. Madison Odam had a game-high 12 rebounds off the bench for the Beavers. Babson led 20-17 after one and 37-36 at halftime.
The Beavers used a 10-0 run to take a 53-47 with 2:01 left in the third quarter and led 54-50 after three quarters.
Hartman led the Bears with 22 points and eight rebounds while Kira Wood (13) and Emma Puddington (11) were also in double figures for the Bears. Jacqueline Ward led Coast Guard with a game-high six assists.
Babson led by as many as seven (18-11) in the first quarter and led 20-17 after one and 37-36 at halftime.
Coast Guard is back in action on Wednesday at Clark in a NEWMAC game at 5:00.
