NEW LONDON, Conn. – Coast Guard was impressive as the Bears won all nine matches for the second straight week to beat Clark 9-0 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match on Senior Day.
Coast Guard, which beat Springfield 9-0 to open the NEWMAC season last week, improves to 2-2 on the season and 2-0 in the conference while Clark drops to 0-2 on the season.
Seniors Kyle Fager and Chris Lansing each won both their singles and doubles matches in the win.
Fager won 6-2, 6-2 at #5 singles and teamed with Charles Norman for an 8-6 win at #1 doubles.
Lansing was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at #6 singles and him and Myles Decoste won 8-6 at #2 doubles for Coast Guard.
Banks Evans won 7-5, 6-1 at #1 singles, Decoste was a 7-5, 6-0 winner at #2 singles, Norman won 6-3, 6-0 at #3 singles and Sean Dreher was a 2-6, 7-5, 10-5 winner at #4 singles.
Evans and Dreher won 8-1 at #3 doubles for Coast Guard.
